HOST Director of Training, Ms. Karen Roberts, is a retired Navy Water Survival Instructor and Corpsman with over twenty years of military water survival instructor experience. Ms. Roberts’ military background as an Air Force Aviation Survival Training Instructor at Sheppard AFB, TX and Navy Water Survival Instructor and Corpsman at Miramar Naval Air Station and Pensacola Naval Air Station has made her a subject matter expert in all aspects of flight physiology, survival swimming, underwater egress, compressed air, helicopter hoisting, surface survival, land survival, parachute entanglement, overland parasail, cold weather survival, survival first aid, and aviation life support equipment. Ms. Roberts developed all of the courseware and designed training devices utilized in the HOST program. Karen is a Navy Master Training Specialist and is a certified NAUI SCUBA Open Water Diver, DoD Lifeguard Qualifier, and Navy Water Survival Training Instructor Qualifier.
